Outer Journey

While walking around Royal Street we happened to go into a
gallery which was called Sutton Galleries who was displaying the work of
Isabelle Dupuy. This particular artist was born and raised in Southern France,
in her work she likes to capture and is inspired by locations near the French countryside
where she grew up and lived. All of her paintings were so colorful, bright and
cheerful, it was so refreshing to look at. Her work had so much texture created
into it, it looked as though it was coming out off of the page. There were so
many beautiful colors displayed on her art you could really see the and understand
the direction she was trying to go, I’ve never seen so many different layers of
pain on top of each other it was really cool to see up close and personal, I bet
it takes forever for those paintings to dry. When looking at the art you could
see that the artist was trying to tell a story and trying to make you see what
she has seen in her life in Southern France. This artist also used a lot of
different tones some warm and some cold, it was nice to see the diversity in
her art. This exhibit of her art was unique because it was all very simple
pictures she has painted but when you really look at it you see how complex it
actually is, I liked this exhibit because even the simplest of pictures told a fascinating
story.
Inner Journey

I enjoyed these paintings because they were very colorful
and had so much texture on them, I am used to seeing art that is mostly just
two dimensional, not art that is coming off of the page. I also liked this
exhibit because you could see in her art that she is trying to tell a story,
she is trying to share her experiences of growing up and living in Southern
France. She wants you to see how beautiful her experiences were and all of the
colors she got to see growing up. The beautiful color, tones, and texture drew
me to this art. This specific art speaks to me by making me realize how
beautiful and peaceful nature is and that I need to do a better job of
appreciating it when seeing it. I enjoy this story so much because it emphasizes
how beautiful and special nature is and it makes you want to appreciate it
more, I also enjoy it because I think it is so special that this artist wants
to share her experiences with us and share a very important part of her life
with us. I like this art so much because it just makes me feel free and calm,
all of these pictures are so soothing, and you almost get lost by just admiring
them and imagining that you are there where the picture takes place. I
personally am a big fan of art that is of nature I find it very comforting and almost
like an escape, I feel like I can escape all my troubles and worries when looking
at these pictures and just travel to wherever this picture is representing, it’s
therapeutic.
